The formation of the TOFU Council is designed to oversee the administrations of TOFU. Hence, all policies, rules, appointment of Office Bearers, promotions, etc. will be handled purely by the council.
The Tofu is structured in the following way.
TOFU Core Team ? The guys who started TOFU in the first place, most are not on very often but are still held in high regard by the members. The core team can be classed as on a break and one day they may return.
TOFU Chief (TC) ? Has overall responsibility for council, acts as Chairman/Mediator on council business and consolidates council decisions into policy. The chief acts as an advisor to senior members about regiment issues and other matters and maintains overall control over decision making. Regiment commander status will be rotated only when necessary.
The council is an advisory body of players that support the regiment through the resolution of problems and development of new policies for the betterment of the game. The council ideally consists of three regiment commanders, four permanent members and between six and nine elected members. Decisions made by the council in regards to the regiment shall be final and not open for negotiations.
Council shall not only provide in game leadership but also encourage others to gain leadership skills. They oversee the mentoring of members and mentor the upcoming leaders that may eventually be recruited to council.
The Council reserve the right to remove any member from the regiment should they feel that the member is detrimental to the conduct of the regiment as a whole. A requirement of 60% vote within the council shall be required before any changes to current regiment policies and/or for the removal of any member from the regiment. In the event of a conflict within the Council, the Permanent Council members shall make the final decisions.
In the event that an office bearer (Elected Council, Tofu Chief and Regiment Commander) is to be removed from office, an 80% no confidence vote from members ranked Silver Tofu and above will be required. After which, Permanent Council will conduct an investigation and render a final decision.
Regional Coordinators (RC) ? Primary duty is to assist the TC in encouraging the best in the regiment. RC keeps oversight and coordinates running of their time zone, including the encouragement of everyone to recruit and train new players. RC's shall also participate in matters of council including new member admissions and promotions. Other duties include the proper usage of Shout to assist the faction and advising mentors. RC will lead in their time zones but also encourage others to try leading. In other words, RC's shall set the examples for all to follow.
Permanent Council (PC) ? Forms the core of the council providing the stability within the council structure during election of EC members and during changes to the overall structure of the regiment.
Elected Council (EC) ? Members of the EC are elected during the SG reincarnation event. The elected council members undertake to advise and assist the decision making processes within the regiment. Having an elected part of the regiment allows there to be a number of leaders who are regular players. Pre-requisites for EC candidates are that they should be familiar with TOFU Operations and have been a member of the regiment for at least 2 Reincarnation Events.
Platinum TOFU ? the council will conduct Promotions to this rank during each reincarnation event. One of the things looked at in all promotions will be the record in recruiting and mentoring new members. Platinum participate in RC forum debates and contribute to decision making. Members in this category shall advise the Chief and RC's on carrying out orders and/or policies implemented by the council. Those who have attained this rank shall be considered the Senior Members of the regiment, and as such will have the responsibility of overseeing the regiment in all activities leading to conduct and performance. By default, these members shall assume the role of RC's in the absence of the appointed RC's online.
Gold TOFU - At least 3 reincarnations in record with 1 reincarnation serving with TOFU regiment. Promotion for this level can be nominated by the senior members or by their mentor and approved by the Council. The mentor will make a recommendation on the promotion to Council. Primary responsibilities of this rank include mentoring, assisting the RC's or senior members in conducting battles for the regiment as well as enforcing the rules and regulations of the regiment. All aspects of the game are considered when considering promotion to this rank including record recruiting and mentoring.
Silver TOFU - At least 1 reincarnation in record promotion for this level shall be nominated by the Mentor or Senior member and approved by council. Primary responsibilities are to attempt mentoring and continuing to improve battle skills and good attitude and a solid support for the policies of TOFU - Rank for all new permanent members regardless of their in-game experiences. It will be expected that candidates for Silver will have attempt leading the reg in 3 battles under the guidance of a senior member. This is not to push people into leadership but to promote a greater understanding of all roles and a greater capacity to support those leading.
TOFU - Members who have been in tofu for > 4 weeks who have been checked to have a good fit with the regiment, on both game play and general attitude towards the game and others. The default rank of all TOFUs.
TOFU INITIATE ? temporary for 1 week to 4 weeks for both candidate and TOFU to check the ?fit?. Applications will normally be accepted with minimal delay if there is a member willing to mentor them. Initiates can be rejected at any time in this period by 2 or more members of council. It is a requirement that you have a mentor or get one soon after joining. The mentor will make a recommendation regarding the application to council at the end of the trial. We encourage openness with the mentor regarding progress toward an invitation to permanent membership. Initiates are expected to use this opportunity to observe how TOFU works and decide themselves if they want to join after the trial period. We do not expect people to arrive polished and skilled ready to go. We are looking for potential loyalty, willingness to learn and good attitude. We are serious about playing well but we want it to be fun and encouraging of new members.
Nominations for EC are to be submitted by the TOFU Chief and those who are ranked Platinum Tofu, 2 weeks prior to Reincarnation Event or when called for by TC and permanent council. A person should attain the rank of Gold before being on Council.
Nomination for EC's shall be conducted based on time zones. In other words, only US players can nominate US candidates for Council, etc.
In the event that there are no new nominations for the next Reincarnation Event, those previously nominated EC shall remain in office for the duration of the next term. Effort will always be made to rotate some positions on council to create a culture of shared leadership and mutual support regardless of positions and roles.
If anyone would like to join other regiments or become a mercenary, kindly inform any of the senior members or the commanders through private messages or sgmail. This will at least give us a good reason to let you back into the regiment in the event that you want to come back. We're looking for honesty, courtesy and sincerity.
Remember this is only a game, have fun, enjoy the company, don't take it too seriously. It's only a game.
